CI/CD with AWS Code Pipeline using Terraform

In a recent project, I successfully developed and implemented a CI/CD pipeline using AWS CodePipeline and Terraform scripts, enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our application deployments. The pipeline integrated GitHub, AWS CodeCommit, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy, automating the process from code synchronisation to deploying Docker images on AWS ECS. I also included comprehensive test case execution and real-time Slack notifications for team updates. This setup not only streamlined our deployment process but also ensured high-quality code delivery and effective team collaboration, significantly improving our project's overall efficiency and reliability.

Security assessment of an AWS infrastructure

The objective of this project was to conduct a comprehensive security assessment of an AWS infrastructure by utilizing Amazon Inspector and AWS Security Hub. The first phase involved setting up and configuring Amazon Inspector to perform automated security checks on the various resources deployed in the AWS environment. The gathered data and findings from Inspector were then aggregated and analyzed in AWS Security Hub to provide a centralized view of the security posture. Upon completing the security checks, a detailed security report was generated, highlighting vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and potential threats discovered during the assessment. This report served as a crucial reference for understanding the current security state of the AWS infrastructure. To further enhance the security measures, several AWS native services were employed. Amazon GuardDuty was configured to continuously monitor for suspicious activities, unauthorized access, and potential intrusions within the AWS environment. Amazon Macie was leveraged to automatically discover, classify, and protect sensitive data stored in Amazon S3 buckets, ensuring compliance and data protection. Moreover, AWS WAF (Web Application Firewall) was implemented to safeguard web applications from common web exploits and attacks, while AWS Shield provided DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) protection, ensuring the infrastructure remains resilient against potential large-scale attacks. By employing these robust security services in tandem, the AWS infrastructure attained an elevated level of security, minimizing the risk of potential security breaches and ensuring a safe environment for critical workloads and sensitive data.

Set up Hashicorp Vault server on AWS EKS

In a key project, I implemented HashiCorp Vault on Amazon EKS to address our need for secure management of sensitive data. I utilized Helm charts for deployment, DynamoDB for resilient backend storage, and AWS KMS for cryptographic key management. This setup not only enhanced our data security and access controls but also integrated seamlessly with our Kubernetes environment, showcasing my ability to deliver secure, scalable cloud-native solutions.
