This is one of my most interesting projects as I got to work under a senior engineer and gain experience I couldn't have otherwise gained as a single hobbyist. I was tasked with researching third party tools to integrate into our game to save us time while making sure we had the features we needed. Other things I did at Vygar included modifying AI behavior, setting up the user interface with images provided by our fantastic artist. Working on this project exposed me to a larger code base and many programming concepts they don't teach in school.
Evil Uprising is my computer science capstone project. We were a three person team and together made a REST API, 50 page essay, Phaser 3 front end and Node.js backend as well as configure AWS. Many of these things were first times for us. We had no prior experience configuring AWS or using Phaser 3 and yet we pulled off a real time open world game with an authoritative server running on Amazon ECS with deployment scripts and the whole nine yards. The total project time was 12 weeks.
