Bison is a web-based support system for quantitative trading, with features such as calculating the total assets, alpha and market cap distribution of positions for each asset account, managing asset accounts and models, as well as evaluating models using charts. I independently designed, implemented and maintained the entire system, which supports daily stock trading and provides a great user experience. * The screenshots show test data.
The Python-based program I have developed for this project was designed to scrape thousands of financial news items from some Chinese websites, including Sina and Eastmoney, on a daily basis. These websites return content in HTML and JSON formats, and use some anti-scraping techniques such as HTTP header analysis, rate limiting and IP address blocking. However, I was able to overcome these challenges and scrape the data from these sites.
This project came from my friend, with the objective of scraping hotel data from Ctrip for over 20 cities and performing some requisite statistics. Ctrip (NASDAQ: TCOM) is the largest online travel agency in China. As a result, it uses robust anti-scraping mechanisms including rate limiting, honeypot and JavaScript challenge. Nevertheless, I smartly bypassed these mechanisms at a low cost, scraped the data efficiently, and generated the desired statistical results in Excel format.
This is a dating website of NetEase (NASDAQ: NTES). Its goal is to help people find local partners for romantic relationships and marriage. In 2009, I started to rebuild the entire front-end foundation and UI framework to ensure that the website is compatible with different browsers and provides users with a great experience when visiting. I have received praise from developers and designers of the neighboring department for achieving good compatibility with IE6.
