Kobidding LLC is a company based in Utah (USA) and the company does bid take offs for plumbers. The process is hectic and time consuming. I was hired to create a computer vision power AI system that could do bid take offs for plumbers using computer vision. I worked on Atlas, their AI system that would take pdf plans as an input (20-30 pages long) and identify plumbing fixtures in the blue prints of the images, break down the plan into rooms, and provide an analysis of the pdf plan along with the bidding cost based on the fixtures and work required. I was hired as a computer vision engineer initially to develop the computer vision models, and later on promoted to the data scientist role where I would also overlook deployment and monitoring the model's performance on azure cloud. The entire system was developed using python and powered by computer vision, machine learning, nlp and data science. Atlas was integrated with kobidding's website to help the plumbers do bid take offs from an hour to just a few minutes. They could set their own rate for different fixtures and get a cost estimate for the building plans.
Bella was the computer vision ecosystem to help the company do retail audits in markets and find planograms compliance for their retail skus. I was tasked to turn this concept into a reality and shift from manual retail audits to AI & computer vision. I led a team of annotators, capture team, agents and developers to develop bella, the advanced computer vision system that would help the company do retail audits and do better data analysis. The project was powered by python, computer vision, nlp, aws, azure cloud and mlflow. The project was a huge success, and helped the company acquire more clients due to a faster and more accurate execution of the retail strategies of clients like Pepsi, Redbull, p&g, etc... The agents would just take photos and AI would take care of everything. This helped the company reduce agents and rely more on AI which was faster and cheaper.
One of the best projects I have ever done. I had to develop a comic engine that would take korean comic images and convert them to english. It was a big project and needed high level of expertise and intellect to accomplish. Breaking it down to modules it had to: Detect korean text, Segment it, Save it as textual data, Inpaint it from the original image without any traces, Translate korean text to english text and finally Super Impose it to the original image such that it doesn't look odd. I was the in-charge of the whole project and led the other developers involved in the project. Google translate wasn't able to provide the best korean translation, therefore a bot was developed to translate the korean text from a website. Since the bot couldn't run alongside the text recognizer, I created a specific file format where the data and the meta data of the recognized korean text was saved. A bot was then used to provide translation for the korean text from an online website. Once done a super-imposer python program was written that took those files and super imposed english text on to the original images. In an update to the project, i also coded multi-threading that boosted performance. The overall project gave 98% Test accuracy. The buyer was very happy to see the end project as it exceeded his expectations. He was amazed by both my coding and leadership abilities that I had demonstrated for this project. This program was then used by him to run his comic business.
