Schedule Interview NowMy name is Ivan A. and I have over 12 years of experience in the tech industry. I specialize in the following technologies: Python, SQL, Unix Shell, RESTful API, Containerization, etc.. I hold a degree in Other. Some of the notable projects I’ve worked on include: IceLink, Quiz site, (Technical) Converting Apache rewrite rules to use with Nginx, (Technical) Optimizing selects in Django Admin, SmartFleet, etc.. I am based in Tbilisi, Georgia. I've successfully completed 12 projects while developing at Softaims.
Information integrity and application security are my highest priorities in development. I implement robust validation, encryption, and authorization mechanisms to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance. I am experienced in identifying and mitigating common security vulnerabilities in both new and existing applications.
My work methodology involves rigorous testing—at the unit, integration, and security levels—to guarantee the stability and trustworthiness of the solutions I build. At Softaims, this dedication to security forms the basis for client trust and platform reliability.
I consistently monitor and improve system performance, utilizing metrics to drive optimization efforts. I’m motivated by the challenge of creating ultra-reliable systems that safeguard client assets and user data.

Everything about backend development with Django/DRF/Postgres/Celery, software architecture, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD processes was my responsibility in some part at some point over the course of 7+ years. I worked with a great team of course, only about one third of the actual code was actually authored by me. Some of the core concepts, hopefully, will outlive my active participation.
A simple but fast and functional quiz site. I worked on back end mostly, and just for a couple weeks (fixing the most important issues at the moment and implementing some new features). I am especially proud of custom admin pages I built (can't show them here, sorry).
Client wanted to migrate their web application to Nginx web server and had very complicated rewrite rules. My task was to convert them to Nginx format, optimize and replace with locations where possible, and integrate them into config files. With reading documentation and resolving some issues it was done successfully. I also optimized a few other things in Nginx configuration.
Very small but yet tricky solution for a big data problem in Django. Client wanted to optimize Django Admin which was slowed down by rendering of drop-down select with a lot of options in them (especially when the same select was multiplied in inline forms). Solution I employed was to change widget type to simple id inputs (so they are rendered quickly on both front-end and back-end), get the list of options via AJAX request, and then change all the inputs to selects with required options (I re-used the idea later with other projects). List of options, being downloaded only once per page, stopped slowing down admin pages with a lot of inlines (it sometimes amounted to 20-30 MiB of data per page) in it so Admin had become really quick. Some less urgent problems were fixed as well.
Fleet management SaaS. A sort of software to monitor and take care of all the vehicles you use using (OBD-connected) GPS trackers, an app on cellphone/tablet and some other data (e.g. manually written service dates and mileage). Special features included path optimizations, delivery notifications, and generating the path during the day and the most popular stops using Google's geocoder. My contribution was significant, but less then 50% of codebase (both front-end and back-end) by the time of the first version released. Unfortunately, it hadn't worked out very well for me and the client (I disagreed with some technical and managerial bad practices we employed) so I decided to leave and find something else, but they still seem to be working on it and getting new clients.
