Event Details Redesign
Our ticket discovering and purchasing application required a redesign of authentication and the event details page. Working closely with the designer, we worked through multiple iterations and concepts before reaching what we felt was a clean and intuitive UI and UX. As well as the foundational requirements to rebuild these complex UIs, the project also exposed me to Accessibility, Dynamic Type, SwiftUI animations, async/await, Combine, and other new technologies.
FIXR Entry Manager
The FIXR ticketing and event management company needed an industry-leading ticket scanner that worked quickly and seamlessly synchronised with other clients to get ticket holders through the door as securely and effortlessly as possible. Building such an application required intense planning and scoping sessions with the project manager, senior staff, and designer. I worked most closely with the UI/UX lead. We communicated from the early stages and throughout the implementation. I often bothered our backend developers, ensuring I understood the available API services and data structures. I needed to make the most efficient use of our servers. Synchronising between the local store and the remote database offered many intimidating challenges, and supporting offline use was a fascinating dive into first-principles thinking. We shipped before our deadline, delivering an app that won us multiple high-end clients and commonly received compliments on its peerless ease of use and functionality.
