The SpaceX Starlink User Terminal connects people in the most remote regions of the world to the internet through lower-earth orbit satellite communications. I was on the team writing low-level software for the device in C++, including functionality like antenna calibration, beamforming logic, geofencing, amplitude tapering, factory refurbishment, secure unlocks, and more.
Responsible for systems powering particle effects, raft simulations, flight simulations, Unreal Engine integrations, ripple effects, camera HUD software, continuity department full-stack tools, and asset pipeline catalog full-stack tools.
The goal of the project was to create the ultimate list-making, organizing, visualization, and sharing app.
Responsibilities included development of new features, designing and implementing new architectural patterns, and creating detailed feature documentation. Technologies used include Kotlin, Data Binding, SQLiteOpenHelper, and Glide. Some accomplishments include creating the product filtering experience, the free samples feature, and implementing a barcode scanner.
