To provide a managed Ecommerce procurement environment for corporate customers and Governmental agencies. By allowing access to vetted and committee selected products for internal customer ordering. Data driven Sales Order Processing through WCF web service layer. XML can be generated to export to SAP or other ERP systems. Products are provided via managed catalogue lists that are derived from a larger master catalogue which itself is fed via CNET and other service providers for computer, office stationery, white goods and medical equipment etc. A Windows 32 C# client provides the management layer for a User Interface. 3 different accounts give access to the functionality inside the application. The highest level allows for the creation of meta information that is used by the next level down in the user hierarchy to enter additional information to describe products. The next level allows users to manage data for products inside the catalogues both by adding new products from a master catalogue or to provide custom information concerning the product for Office and Sales Order processing. The final level is the Customer of the specific catalogue, there is an Import feature for this access level to allow the user to update their local catalogue with new catalogue details. This is vey useful if the client is remote from central HQ or has very stringent security standards which make the usage of a web service for the catalogue impractical. The catalogue also provides the source for a data driven Sales Order Processing web service. As it can access specific customer information that is stored alongside regular product data. For instance mulit budget ordering is possible as different cost centers for a corporate HQ can be assigned, as Attribute data for each product.
