As the Lead Programmer on the intensely gameplay-focused game, 'Grand Lukto,' I spearheaded the design and implementation of all gameplay mechanics. Throughout the project, I honed in on creating a responsive Player Controller to ensure smooth and intuitive player interactions, critical to a game like Grand Lukto, where the immediacy of player response is paramount. Among the various mechanics I engineered, the special block placement system and opponent AI for solo play mode were notably complex, requiring creative problem-solving and meticulous attention to detail. Leading a team of three coders, I strived to align everyone's efforts with the game's creative vision, with each coder handling feature-specific tasks aligned with their skills. A key aspect of Grand Lukto's development was the incorporation of various design patterns such as Observer, Publish/Subscribe, Flyweight, Pool, and MVC, a testament to the game's intricate design. While Grand Lukto was being developed for platforms like PC, Switch, PS, and Xbox systems, the project is currently on standby as the studio explores other exciting opportunities. However, the journey with Grand Lukto is far from over, as we plan to revisit and reinvigorate it when the time is right.
