TheGamer website was looking for pitches on evergreen gaming. I sent mine, entitled Final Fantasy 14's Silent Protagonist Is More Endearing Than Any Other In The Series, and they agreed. That's how I wrote a piece for TheGamer.
The client had created a high fantasy setting and the world for his GPS-based RPG game. He needed someone to write some sidequests and encounters as an evaluation. After I took the test, he offered me the position of the main story writer, which I grabbed like it was the Philosopher's Stone. It's an ongoing job, but I have already written the first chapter, created locations, branched quests with dice rolls, and created several characters to populate the world. Among them are guild masters, villains, mini-bosses, and supporting characters that help or hinder the protagonist's adventure. The game is in alpha, and player testing has just begun. But I will continue as primary story writer as long as Nils wants!
I was hired to write a book for Daring Destiny, an interactive storytelling game where your decisions create the story. After aligning expectations and deciding on a theme - after several suggestions and brainstorming with the client - I wrote the story respecting technical guidelines so it could be easily adapted to mobile format. The story is called Million Dollar Detour, and the protagonist is the secretary of a billion-dollar company CEO. They go on a trip to Rio de Janeiro (we used a known scenario since I am Brazilian). Both are involved in situations that turn their world upside down. The entire writing was around 50,000 words and 18 chapters. That was my first work experience with proofreaders and editors, which taught me a lot about scriptwriting.
WhatIfGaming was trying to become a credible review source website. To do that, it needed to have a Review Policy section somewhere. Dan asked me to write one for them, and I did. I added some flair and cheekiness to show that we are not a group of run-of-the-mill review writers but someone who adds our essence and originality to every game evaluated. I wrote everything on that page, and Dan reviewed it. He gave me the utmost liberty to drop whatever insanity there was on my mind in the heated moment of writing.
Jake asked to write guides for some amazing RPG games and since I love the Final Fantasy series, I asked if I could write for one of the game's mainline. He said I could write one for Final Fantasy X, best enemies to steal from and so I did. I had a lot of fun writing cause Fandom Spot thrives on entertaining and creative writing, so I had no objections when I went a little wild on the jests.
