Nginx Reverse Proxy and Load Balancing Project Project Description: This project aims to implement a high-performance and scalable web server infrastructure using Nginx as a reverse proxy and load balancer. The primary objectives are: Increase website performance and availability: By distributing traffic across multiple backend servers, Nginx can efficiently handle heavy traffic loads and improve response times. Enhance security: Acting as a single point of entry, Nginx can shield backend servers from direct access and potential attacks. Simplify backend management: Nginx allows for easy addition or removal of backend servers without impacting clients. Improve resource utilization: By dynamically allocating traffic based on server health and load, Nginx can optimize resource utilization and reduce costs. Gain insights into web traffic: Nginx provides detailed logging and analytics capabilities, allowing for better understanding of user behavior and website performance. Project Features: Nginx configuration: Defining virtual servers, upstream groups, and load balancing algorithms. Health checks: Monitoring the health and responsiveness of backend servers. Session persistence: Maintaining user sessions across multiple backend servers. Caching: Reducing server load by caching static content locally. Custom logging and monitoring: Tailoring logging and monitoring to specific needs. Security hardening: Implementing security best practices with Nginx. Target Audience: This project is intended for: Web developers: Looking to improve the performance and scalability of their websites. System administrators: Responsible for managing web server infrastructure. IT professionals: Seeking to learn about Nginx and load balancing concepts. Project Deliverables: A fully functional Nginx server configured as a reverse proxy and load balancer. Comprehensive documentation outlining the configuration and operation of the server. Scripts and automation tools for managing the server. Monitoring and analysis reports on server performance and traffic patterns. Expected Benefits: Improved website performance and availability. Enhanced security posture. Simplified backend management. Increased resource utilization. Better understanding of web traffic and user behavior.
Deployed Job Portal on EKS cluster using GitOps, Jenkins for CI and Argocd for CD part of Robust CI/CD Pipeline. Used Tool: GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, Docker, Trivy, Terraform, Ansible, K8s, EKS, Argocd, Grafana and Prometheus. Use Terraform for provisioned an EC2 instance, create a role with EKS Full Access and assign to the EC2, so we will be able to run cluster commands for this instance. Use Ansible for Configuration Management (Install Kubectl and eksctl on the instance which was provisioned by terraform). Create EKS cluster using this instance. Create Argocd namespace and deployed argocd. Configure the argocd to monitor the manifest repository, and update the cluster according to desired state. I use GitHub as Source Code management, for enabling Versioning and Sharing of Code. Use webhook for run Jenkins job automatically whenever a developer push code to GitHub repository. Test the code quality using static code analysis tool SonarQube. If code pass the analysis test we will create a docker image. Push container images to public repository for docker images DockerHub and Private repository ECR. Update the manifest repository according to the latest image using bash script.
