Our customer had a cloud-based solution for IoT product connectivity – a high-load application with a microservice architecture. With the significant increase in the number of IoT products, the pressure on the cloud system resources has also increased, and the client required system optimization. We contributed to the design of the cloud system for IoT products. Our engineers joined an in-house team and implemented improvements for the cloud system– we carried out system optimizations, increasing the number of requests per minute and the potential for immediate cloud scalability. Customer saved up to 30% of expenses while decreasing the number of servers The cloud system became more scalable and thus ready for the anticipated significant and rapid increase in the number of connected IoT products
The customer required the creation and implementation of GUI for a 3D scanner which is exceptionally accurate in detecting defects. We’ve created a comfortable and functional interface with the touchscreen which provides ease in working with a 3D scanner. Hardware notifications, warnings, and errors can be read out from the PLC and sent to the GUI via the PPU. The project was successfully implemented with a hard deadline. Since the previous contractor couldn’t accomplish the task our team should meet client’s expectations to present the ready-to made solution at the automotive exhibition.
BUSINESS CHALLENGE The value of connected products is clear. The leading companies are rapidly moving beyond TVs, printers, E-readers, washing machines, thermostats, etc. The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the most important technological innovations of the past decade. The software team in partnership with Cirrent company designed and implemented a wireless configuration manager application that resolved such problems so a user only had to plug in the device and wait for a few seconds until the device connects automatically. SOLUTION Our team contributed to the design and implementation of Cirrent WCM (Wireless Connection Manager) that helps to connect devices instantly with no setup, no password, but still addresses strong security. The solution created a global network, in public spaces and homes across the world, designed to get instant cloud connection and product registration using Cirrent WCM. The main use case is for product companies that would like to give their products immediate access to a global network that makes setup very easy with Cirrent configuration. It’s key advantage is to create a secure connection that is outside of the customer’s private network. With Cirrent WCM devices have the ability to access public wi-fi networks and get limited access to the internet (up to 10 kbit per second). When a customer changes his or her network password the product will still be online, and with no hardware or proprietary software it can be integrated into existing product lines at very little cost. VALUE DELIVERED We created a robust embedded Linux based software that can be ported on another embedded platform with minimum effort, and that satisfies the time and memory constraints of current hardware from major vendors. Additionally, automated functional and integration tests were created that validate the current version of the software and simplify porting of the system on the other platforms. We created robust Linux embedded software that is fully maintainable over the long term and can be adjusted for different platforms.
