Schedule Interview NowMy name is Richard C. and I have over 5 years of experience in the tech industry. I specialize in the following technologies: Cloud Security, Cloud Migration, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, Microsoft Active Directory, Infrastructure Management, etc.. I hold a degree in , Associate of Science (AS). Some of the notable projects I’ve worked on include: On-Premise to Azure Migration with Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows Virtual Desktop Implementation for Remote Users, On-Premises to Azure Infrastructure Migration, AD to AAD Sync with SSO, FEDRAMP Compliance, etc.. I am based in Gainesville, United States. I've successfully completed 6 projects while developing at Softaims.
I am a business-driven professional; my technical decisions are consistently guided by the principle of maximizing business value and achieving measurable ROI for the client. I view technical expertise as a tool for creating competitive advantages and solving commercial problems, not just as a technical exercise.
I actively participate in defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensuring that the features I build directly contribute to improving those metrics. My commitment to Softaims is to deliver solutions that are not only technically excellent but also strategically impactful.
I maintain a strong focus on the end-goal: delivering a product that solves a genuine market need. I am committed to a development cycle that is fast, focused, and aligned with the ultimate success of the client's business.

Lead, planned, and implemented full on-premise to Azure cloud migration including several SQL Server databases complete with Azure Virtual Desktop Implementation. Completely client facing with full responsibility.
Architect-ed the complete migration of physical infrastructures hosted in an on-premise server farm into a dynamically generated, template-based Azure IaaS environment. Migration consists of replicated dual region for geo-rep;lication & resiliency with ASR, with environments for staging and production provisioned in both regions. VNET peering is enabled between environments to allow for cross communication. A management jumpbox is implemented within its own subnet to allow for secure remote access to cloud network resources. All vms are deployed in paired availability sets to comply with high availability. * (the attached diagrams are a representation of the completed architecture)
As the lead Cloud Engineer tasked with migrating an on-premises application environment to Azure, one of the major tasks was to ensure that the engineers, developers, and administrators had the necessary access to properly configure the virtual machines and other resources within the Azure environment, from their work desktops/laptops from the companies environment. A major decision in coming up with a solution is identifying and deciding on the correct authentication method to go with. I decided on password hash synchronization as it allowed for us to use the same username and password that we use every day at work without having to deploy anything else. By deploying AD Connect to the on-premises domain controller, configuring it to allow for password-hash syncing, enabling the option for single sign-on, and allowing for password-write-back, I was successfully able to implement a solution. Once the sync was completed, the proper configuration allowed for workers to also change their on-premises password & sync it back to Azure AD. With the success here, it was now on to coming up with a solution for allowing secure access from work to our resources utilizing our new authentication method.
As part of authorization to becoming FEDRAMP authorized at a moderate level, it was necessary that an implementation of policies surrounding the security and risk management of our Azure environment was established. This was accomplished by configuring governing environmental policies within the Azure environment which allows for auditing and scanning for compliance, creating artifacts/notifications for any non-compliant resources or areas of the subscription that needed attention. I then utilized the artifacts as a baseline for implementing a continuous monitoring and management plan leveraging the Azure policy, monitoring, and log analytics tools. This ultimately lead to easier documentation pertaining to the overall assessment and surrounding deliverables required.
