Experience Highlights

Loft Labs - Managing Kubernetes Cluster Sprawl

The client Loft Labs provides developer tooling such as vCluster, virtual Kubernetes clusters with multi-tenancy, DevSpace, and kiosk. They wanted a thought leadership technical article focused on Kubernetes cluster sprawls and how they affect enterprises, financially and operationally. I weaved in a solid deliverable that lays out the issue at hand, outlines the best mitigation techniques, and talks directly to C-level executives who need to know about a product without excess technical jargon. My article helps Loft position its blog as a leader in the Kubernetes developer tooling industry.

Equinix - Observability Best Practices

This in-depth technical article is for Equinix, a US-based MNC in the cloud industry. This project instrumented Google’s Online Boutique application to define metrics and leverage OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana to implement an end-to-end observability stack for the application. By the end of this tutorial, readers will have obtained invaluable knowledge and practical tips on implementing Kubernetes observability. This article also helps Equinix position its blog as a leader in cloud technology by showcasing real-world technical tutorials that developers can benefit from.

Loft Labs - How eBPF Improves Observability within Kubernetes

This article for Loft Labs illustrates how DevOps engineers can leverage eBPF to increase observability in their cloud applications. The article explains eBPF's benefits to modern SRE teams and showcases a real-world example with all the code examples and diagrams. I implemented a robust DDOS detector, an eBPF probe, using the BCC toolkit and deployed it as a Kubernetes sidecar that monitors an NGINX web server for incoming DDOS. The published tutorial provides a comprehensive, no-fluff introduction to eBPF and establishes the Loft blog as a leader in the Kubernetes landscape.

Pipekit - How to Integrate Prometheus with Argo Workflows

My client, Pipekit, provides managed data pipelines and infrastructure for Kubernetes and wanted me to showcase how to integrate the Prometheus monitoring tool with Argo Workflow, a workflow engine for running parallel jobs in Kubernetes. I illustrated their integration using a real-world example that makes the article invaluable to starting DevOps professionals and Pipekit's target audience.

Check Point - NGINX WAF alternatives: App Protect vs. open-appsec

Check Point provides software products for the security industry. In this comparison, we evaluated three popular web firewalls: Nginx WAF, ModSecurity, and Open-Appsec, a community edition of the client's AppSec offering. My analysis of each tool highlights its pros and cons and outlines when to choose one WAF over another. By the end of this technical write-up, readers should obtain a clear answer regarding their quest for a WAF. My article also helps Check Point engage with fellow developers and position itself as a strong player in the security industry to potential customers.
