Client's Goal: 1- My recent collaboration with a client involved their desire to reduce their monthly expenses on AWS by shutting down an Amazon EC2 instance. They also sought to back up their data and retain it securely on AWS Glacier or an alternative storage solution. Their ultimate objective was to achieve cost efficiency while maintaining data backup. 2- Details about My Contribution: To address the client's requirements, I began by thoroughly analyzing their AWS billing details to identify the key factors contributing to high costs. This analysis helped me devise a tailored plan to optimize their infrastructure. Upon gaining access to the client's AWS account, I proceeded to manage the backups efficiently. I identified and removed outdated snapshots and Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) while ensuring that vital data remained preserved. Additionally, I implemented a process to create new snapshots and AMIs to maintain the backup integrity. Following the removal of the specified EC2 instance, I took steps to release any associated Elastic IPs, preventing unnecessary costs. Finally, I meticulously cleaned up any remaining volumes to ensure a fully optimized and cost-effective environment. 3- Summary of Project Success: By diligently executing the optimization strategy, I successfully assisted the client in achieving their goal of reducing their AWS expenses significantly. WordPress speed Optimization
Project goal The site challenges were:- 1- Site Score on Gtmetrix was very low. 2-Webmin/Virtualmin was miss configured. 3- The webserver Nginx needs to be secured and needs enhancement. 4-Cloudflare account needs to be configured to handle caching.
Enhance CPU usage
The PHP script that was running on the server was rising CPU usage and by installing OPcache that helps in caching PHP tasks to decrease CPU tasks. and That works.
Restore AWS EBS from EC2 snapshot
1) My client want to restore an EBS from EC2 snapshot because of data loss. 2) I start to create new Volume from the backed up snapshot and then attach it to the required EC2. 3) The restoring done simply and clearly there were an SSL issue after restoring but it was a matter if caching and the it resolved.
