Coordinating with multiple project managers and the CEO, I use a dedicated Discord account to draft and send announcements about product updates, assist users with site issues, and collect feedback and bug reports to continually improve the product. I quantify and prioritize collected feedback to provide actionable items to the CEO each week, guiding development of the site and ensuring the community feels heard and respected.
Grimlord is a VR Dark Fantasy Action Souls-like RPG. As an early access title, the Discord server was primarily used to promote the game, provide updates, and collect bugs and feedback. As the community manager, I ensured that patch notes were posted in a timely and comprehensive fashion and organized the feedback for the developer.
Revived Witch is an adventure RPG game that combines both 2D dynamic pixel art and 3D lighting. Managing the Discord community involved setting up the server, overseeing the moderation team, assisting players, and hosting events. This created a strong and loyal community that stayed with the game until the end of its service one year after launch.
Published by Yostar Games, Mahjong Soul includes both Japanese and English language versions of the game so that players can play riichi mahjong together online. The Discord server required special consideration for the bilingual nature of the community, necessitating an advanced onboarding setup and specialized moderation procedures to ensure community safety and utility. It also features a way for users to submit bugs and feedback within Discord to the developers, cross-posting them to Trello for further developer action.
Discord is a chat platform that uses both native features and third party bots to help with moderation. However, as different bots and tools became available, it became cumbersome to continually port my banned words list from one solution to another, or to split the word list between different solutions depending on the specifics available. I needed a way to convert my word list into a variety of formats that I could then apply as needed and created this spreadsheet as a solution to convert a list of input words into a variety of outputs
