SmartLockr is SaaS solution for sending truly secure emails and creating secure conversations using MS Office addins and Web Applications. We were building the new version of API for AttachingIT for new product naming SmartLockr. I was combining Architect, Team Lead (3 more developers) and Developer roles. Or solution has Single Sign On part (IDSRV4 ASP.NET Core), API part (ASP.NET Core), SQL Server DB, Angular 6 client, Angular 6 administration, Outlook Online AddIn and Outlook Desktop plugin. As developer and architect I was responsible for IDSRV, DB, API and Outlook Online AddIn. The WEBBOOK BOOKING ENGINE is a high-end SaaS application to integrate with existing data and workflows in the provision of hotel reservation and booking services. The primary goal of this project is to replace an existing ASP Classic application with a modern, responsive SaaS/Hosted System. Removing the need to create an individual installation for each site as well as adding additional functionality. It is to include both a public facing interface as well as administration areas for hotel staff and system management. The application is a web based solution targeting modern browsers and mobile web platforms. It utilize an existing SQL Anywhere database and be developed using ASP.NET MVC technologies. Access to the front-end is site specific (Site or Group of Hotels) and supports site specific customization and branding capabilities. The design is also multi-language capable. This project is an Admin-part of the HBE which allows Instance admin to manage instance configuration and Hotel\Chain\Region Admins to manage the Hotel configurations and content. The task was to migrate the existing single-tenant WPF application (VB.NET) to the multi-tenant WEB application based on ASP.NET Core. Also we wanted to leave the existing DB schema for the compatibility reasons. Also one of the main requirement was to reuse the existing CrystalReports templates. Client has provided the ready CSS Theme and I have built the the ASP.NET Core 2.1 web application using EntityFramework Core and ASP.NET Identity. Challenges passed: 1. Integrate the multi-tenancy to the existing DB 2. Migrate the accountant calculation logic from VB.NET (poor quality code) 3. Migrate the CrystalReports and run them under the ASP.NET Core (which is not officialy supported yet and has no documented solution) 4. Migrate the main CRUD operations from stored procedures to EF 5. Integrating multi-tenant support to the EF DbContext I was working with experienced client's developer who taken care about most of the CSS tasks and CrystalReports tasks. As the result we have delivered a MVP in 3 months from start and moved the project to the Alpha testing stage.
