Cognizant Softvision
I contributed to the Onfido SDK used by many companies for identity verification. Code quality and reliability are essential in a SDK. We were split in multiple teams, each one comprised of one iOS dev, Android devs, QA, Backend, UX, Scrum manager and Team lead. I add a new feature with tests, cleaned up the codebase and improved the workflow.
Vision Bank is a fintech app used to make payments and more targeted for Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries. I was one of many iOS developers working in multiple teams. Every team was comprised of Android devs , iOS devs, QA, UX, Scrum manager and BI I took part in a total restructuring of the software architecture, added unit tests and continuous integration and managed to fix some critical bugs related to authentication.
iRewind is a startup that allows users to record HD movies of themselves practicing a sport like ski, tennis, cycling. This is done using cameras installed in certain locations that stream video to the user's smartphone and edit the video based on the user's GPS track. An indoor solution is also available that uses bluetooth. irewind has won the 1st prize in the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva 2014. I was the sole iOS developer in this stage of the company. I managed to pioneer some solutions such as capturing RTSP streams directly on the iPhone and created a multi-camera, multi-segment video player. We sometimes had short deadlines for certain events where we needed to deliver a functional product. I also got to refactor most of the iOS app.
Style Jukebox was a startup that allowed users to store their Hi-Res music collection in the cloud and listen to it from anywhere using their mobile or PC. I was the sole iOS developer working on the app. A challenge was caching the stream so that playback does not interrupt in temporary signal loss. Playing back and caching hi-res files. Optimising Core Data when using large collections of items.
Some parts of the UI used complex autolayout constraints that needed to be optimized for slower devices. Making a modular architecture that permits quick changes and a growing codebase. Using automated tests to prevent regression bugs. I used unit tests and interface tests to test some critical parts of the app.
