Schedule Interview NowMy name is Zakariyah A. and I have over 2 years of experience in the tech industry. I specialize in the following technologies: Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Amazon Web Services, etc.. I hold a degree in Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Technology (BTech). Some of the notable projects I’ve worked on include: Linux Migration & Avere vFXT Adoption for HBO's Watchmen, Provision Grafana Stack, Configuration and Authorization on Kubernetes, Automated AWS Dynamic Site-to-Site Configuration for OpenWRT, Implement Compliance on AWS through Service Control Policies, Exoscale Prometheus Exporter, etc.. I am based in West Drayton, United Kingdom. I've successfully completed 13 projects while developing at Softaims.
I thrive on project diversity, possessing the adaptability to seamlessly transition between different technical stacks, industries, and team structures. This wide-ranging experience allows me to bring unique perspectives and proven solutions from one domain to another, significantly enhancing the problem-solving process.
I quickly become proficient in new technologies as required, focusing on delivering immediate, high-quality value. At Softaims, I leverage this adaptability to ensure project continuity and success, regardless of the evolving technical landscape.
My work philosophy centers on being a resilient and resourceful team member. I prioritize finding pragmatic, scalable solutions that not only meet the current needs but also provide a flexible foundation for future development and changes.

Micro Focus
I lead the migration of workstations and render nodes from Windows to Linux, and collaborated with Microsoft on adopting Avere vFXT for cloud rendering file caching upon early stages. Migrating to Linux, Outpost VFX saw a 30% increase in render throughput due to increased loading times, and gained the ability to offload rendering into the Azure cloud.
I deployed the Grafana stack to the Kubernetes platform, with automatic configuration of data sources, dashboards, alerts and OpenID Connect using Helm and Terraform. With this approach, Grafana can be deployed with the same configuration regardless of the cloud provider.
I used Ansible to automate IPSec and BGP deployments on OpenWRT, while using Terraform to provision an AWS Site-to-Site configuration. Combining these together, I can now prepare both OpenWRT and AWS VPCs for connecting with each other.
I built an AWS Organizations hierarchy within Terraform that respects data residency and labour requirements of a Canadian-based company.
I'd built a Prometheus exporter for Exoscale over the past few days, allowing me to visualize cloud spending and resource usage from a central location alongside AWS and DigitalOcean. By integrating organizational data from Exoscale into the Prometheus ecosystem, I can now configure alerts for spending or resource usage on either Exoscale specifically or for all platforms thanks to AlertManager. I can also identify where I may have left resources behind using Grafana, in the event I manually creating them or my IaC executions didn't do a proper clean-up
