The career portal Aruba is the primary platform for job seekers and employers in Aruba, which started as a small student project. The product's mission is to bridge the gap between employers and candidates, easing the hiring process with a smooth user experience. The portal allows companies to create profiles, post vacancies and recruit candidates. On the other hand, employee profiles highlight their skills and experience, letting potential employers review and contact them. I joined the project as a Front End Developer, and I was responsible for providing a seamless user experience by creating dynamic pages, and advanced filtration options, as well as improving overall performance and SEO. The technlogies I used were JavaScript, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Redux Toolkit, and React Hook Form. During my involvement in the project, I collaborated with the design and back-end teams to provide tangible results. The project managed to go from a student project idea into a leading local job platform in Aruba. The continuous updates we made based on constructive comments from users resulted in more positive and appreciative user feedback, as well as increased engagement and traffic.
