The Flight Radar Project by Ali Kılıç tracks aircraft in real-time. Back-End: Built with NestJS, using PostgreSQL + PostGIS for geospatial data. WebSocket enables live tracking. Data: Airports, pilots, and routes are managed. Aircraft positions update every 2 seconds. Front-End: Developed with React.js + Vite, using OpenLayers & Mapbox GL JS for maps. Mobile: React Native app supports real-time pilot communication. 3D Tracking: Aircraft movements are visualized using 3D models for a better experience.
This project was prepared upon the request of Duzce Municipality. Unfortunately, it was not used in real life. Yes, I designed both the web and back-end aspects, but working with the government in Turkey is challenging. Therefore, I mostly collaborate with companies abroad. I was very saddened by the efforts I put into this project going to waste. I hope to extend and sell this software to different local administrations. Users of the GISLayer Web GIS Editor have been asking me over time about how to collect data in the field. This is because our users also want to gather data in the field. I had noticed this before, but the codes we had written were only user-friendly mobile web designs that worked on the web. Now, we have written new native code for both Android and iOS using Flutter. Some developers thought Flutter would not succeed, but applications produced by a skilled developer using Flutter are quite impressive. Demo : https://rastercalculator.gislayer.com/ How did I decide to develop this software? A customer of mine wanted to determine the health of plants on agricultural land using remote sensing analysis, and the vastness of the land made it feasible to conduct these analyses online. Therefore, I initially developed this software for my own use and later integrated it into my customer's system. That's the backstory of the genesis of the software. How the WEB GIS Project Started The codes we wrote for our customers were similar from time to time and they could be managed from a single platform. When we put together the blocks of code we produced over time, we were getting great results, and we that thought people could use them on a single platform. Thus, the foundations of the GISLayer company began to be laid. Over time, the parts were combined to create the Web-based GIS software and we presented the results of all these parts to our users to be used in servers. Which Technologies Are Used When we started to code WEB-based GIS software, we preferred to use up-to-date, popular and future-proof technologies and items we have mastered. If we meet a better technology in the future, we will not fail to use it.
