Ship O’Hoi is a Norwegian maritime marketplace app that facilitates the rental and leasing of boats, kayaks, jet skis, and boat docks across Norway. It enables users to rent or lease watercraft and docking spots, offering a secure platform with safe payment solutions and a wide selection of maritime assets .
Autorentals.sk is a Slovakian car rental service company that wanted to modernize their legacy application by developing a new web-based car rental service platform. The new application was developed using Vue.js and .NET Core technologies, which provided a robust and scalable solution for the client's business requirements. As a DevOps Engineer, I containerized the application using Docker and deployed it on AWS EC2 instances with load balancing and SSL. I also set up Microsoft SQL Server as the database backend for the application. The deployment was implemented using AWS Elastic Load Balancing (ELB) to ensure high availability and fault tolerance. The SSL certificate was configured using AWS Certificate Manager to ensure secure communication between the client and server. The application was containerized using Docker, allowing easy deployment and scalability. Docker containers were deployed on the AWS EC2 instances using Kubernetes for container orchestration, which provided a scalable and fault-tolerant environment. As a result of the project, the client was able to modernize their car rental service and provide a better user experience to their customers. The new application provided more features and functionalities than their legacy application, and the deployment on AWS allowed for a scalable and reliable infrastructure to support the growth of their business.
