In stage one, I built the technical foundation of an AI Voice Agent for restaurants and bars. Using Retell AI, I configured and tested inbound/outbound call handling to ensure stable automation and reliable performance. I set up data routing and workflows in n8n to link voice interactions with backend processes. The focus was on creating a robust, scalable system. By the end, the agent had a tested, stable setup forming the backbone for the next stage: full dialog flows.
I built an AI Voice Agent for a hotel that automated guest interactions, self check-in, FAQs, and digital tipping. Using Ultravox for real-time calls, ElevenLabs for natural speech, Twilio for SMS/WhatsApp, and n8n for dialog flows, I integrated ID verification, bookings, and tipping. Guest data synced into Airtable CRM for personalized follow-ups. Backend in Python and frontend in JavaScript for a widget. The solution cut costs and improved 24/7 service quality.
In this project, the main issue was RetellAI failing to detect voicemail, causing the AI Voice Agent to run full dialogues with no real user. I solved this by redesigning prompt logic instead of relying on default detection, refining cues for pauses, greetings, and non-interactive speech. I also optimized RetellAI parameters, voice settings, and updated the LLM for better accuracy. Now the agent reliably detects voicemail, ends calls, or leaves tailored messages, greatly improving efficiency and call quality.
