The application was built for a researcher to analyze vacancies, ratings, and coverage of old-age homes, care centers, nursing homes, and rehab centers. The application takes two types of input files. The first is a nation-wide directory of care centers, and the second is monthly reports from the government about these centers. It then runs a few algorithms to generate a new Excel sheet matching and rating these centers based on few other inputs, like county and area radius. The application also collects/extracts the monthly reports from government websites/portals automatically.
CrossFund is a FinTech startup based in Singapore, helping new startups to raise money, at the moment its invite only. I am employed with them as a Backend Lead. The requirement was to manage and promote all the events we conduct, to guide new and young startups about funding and and finance, telling startup journeys to investors and for any other types of online and offline/physical events. We wanted to be able to do; 1. Create and update events. 2. Send invites to existing user base on new and updated events. 3. Public link for non-registered users and a way to reach out to us for an invite from our platform. 4. Manage speakers and key speakers. 5. Members are allowed to edit event details (Members are like a team organising the event, like the host and other team members). 6. Map link for offline events and meeting link for online events. 7. A way to have files (like; pitch deck etc) already attached to event emails in case of online events. 8. Have an automatic email triggering capability based on time remaining to start the event. My responsibilities included; 1. Based on the requirements from the Project Manager, prepare a technical report and specifications on how to build it. What services we may need, etc. 2. Database design and back-office area design. 3. Implementing endpoints for front end to get information about events and list of events and any other relevant information for front end to conduct all operations needed by end users. 4. Delegating and helping other developers with their part. Making sure everything goes as planned and we complete it within the sprint. 5. Helping with code reviews. 6. Implement back-office area modules for managing events, users, speakers, attendees, files and other resources related to this feature. 7. Helping front end developers to implement the APIs. 8. Write automated tests for the module. Tech stack used; 1. PHP/Laravel with Laravel Nova for backoffice 2. GraphQL 3. React 4. SQL 5. JavaScript amount other technologies were used. The project was very much appreciated by everyone at the demo itself. Since then we have used this feature for more than 20 physical/offline events and for more than 60 online events. It's a custom billing application for wholesale dealers who sell generic products. Problem: Manufacturers of these kinds of products do not package them with a barcode or any other information. This makes billing a huge problem. Labeling that many items every week was not feasible. So I came up with this app, which uses voice-to-text to create bills. Cashiers simply speak the name, amount, and quantity of the product, and the app adds to the list with accuracy. This solved the billing issue, and I sold this app to hundreds of shops nearby with similar businesses.
Laratrust (Laravel Package) Is an open source 📖 project started by Santiago García, it has more than 3M ⬇️ downloads, more than 2K ⭐ starts on github and is used by around 10K projects. This package handles roles and permissions in your Laravel application. My contributions 💻 so far to this project is around Implementation and Improvement of UI features which let users manually manage roles, permissions and teams via admin panel.
This project solves a very common issue faced by almost all construction and real estate companies in India. These companies have a lot of machinery, used everyday. But they often find it very hard to track each and every machinery, their current site, and expenses on consumables, among other important data points like services and depreciations etc. I was hired to solve this with challenges like 1. No or slow internet on site 2. No access to a PC on site 3. Very basic computer knowledge I was hired by Malti Enterprises to solve all of it for them and I developed this custom app for them.
