I built my own framework like Angular JS in 2013 for a web app with 2 million visitors a month. Cleartrip.com is India's 2nd largest OTA platform and I was the Senior Frontend Engineer in 2013. I was tasked to build a single-page app javascript framework that will be used by multiple frontend engineers to build Cleartrip's redesign. Cleartrip was one of the first high-traffic websites that chose Single Page App Design. After 10 years my framework is still being used Some challenges faced: - Cross Browser compatibility - Switch between web workers ( HTML5 web workers were new, not all browsers supported it by default ) - IE 6 & 7 compatibility - Components dependent on multiple network calls Overall framework structure: - Routing - Custom Events - CSS Selector Engine ( Used sizzle.js ) - MVC components - Networking components ( Built own Ajax library ) - Batteries Included utility library like underscore.js but made for OTA. ( Eg: Filtering flights based on layovers. etc )
