The objective of this project was to migrate the search cruise page of a traveling company from an old architecture to a single page application. The old architecture was based on struts2 and the new architecture limited struts2 to the backend, offering only a REST API with an Angular based frontend. Some of the other tools we used in this project were: Git, Stash, Grunt, Node, JBOSS AS, MySQL
The goal of this application is to analyze vehicles travels based on provided GPS data files and it's optimized for mobile devices. It gives you the ability to move forward and backward on the vehicle travel trajectory at any speed you want and at any time it gives you the position of the vehicle. It also uses Google snap to roads API so the positions on the map are very accurate. To build this application, I have used Angular on the frontend and Php on the backend to convert GPS data files from raw format to the application internal format. I have also used Google snap to road API, to convert the original GPS positions to snap to roads positions, in an optimized way so that the API free quota will be sufficient to convert hundreds of GPS files.
