Sanjana H. - Fullstack Developer, Grafana, DevOps

At Softaims, I’ve found a workplace that thrives on collaboration and purposeful creation. The work we do here is about more than technology—it’s about transforming ideas into results that matter. Every project brings a mix of challenges and opportunities, and I approach them with a mindset of continuous learning and improvement. My philosophy centers around three principles: clarity, sustainability, and impact. Clarity means designing systems that are understandable, adaptable, and easy to maintain. Sustainability is about building with the future in mind, ensuring that the work we do today can evolve gracefully over time. And impact means creating something that genuinely improves how people work, connect, or experience the world. One of the most rewarding aspects of working at Softaims is the diversity of thought that every team member brings. We share insights, question assumptions, and push each other to think differently. It’s this culture of curiosity and openness that drives the quality of what we produce. Every solution we deliver is a reflection of that shared dedication. I’m proud to contribute to projects that not only meet client expectations but also exceed them through thoughtful execution and attention to detail. As I continue to grow in this journey, I remain focused on delivering meaningful outcomes that align technology with purpose.

Experience Highlights

Grafana to Quicksight Migration

The project involved optimizing EKS resource usage through container rightsizing using Kubecost metrics and Grafana visualizations. To centralize monitoring, Grafana dashboards were migrated to Amazon QuickSight alongside the CUDOS dashboard. Prometheus metrics were scraped, processed, and stored in S3, enabling integration with QuickSight for comprehensive, centralized visualizations. The system was optimized to process 66 billion requests in just 2 seconds, providing real-time insights into EKS resource utilization and costs, improving efficiency and decision-making across the organization.

GenAI-Powered EKS Utilization and Cost Insights

The project captures EKS utilization and cost metrics using a Python script to scrape Prometheus data, optimizing the processing of 66 billion requests in just 2 seconds. The processed data is stored in S3 as CSV files. Using AWS Glue, the data is crawled into Athena tables, enabling efficient querying. Bedrock LLM processes user prompts to generate SQL queries, fetches results from Athena, and provides actionable insights on EKS resource utilization and costs. This system empowers users with real-time metrics and detailed cost analysis for effective resource management.

Generative AI-powered Jira assistant

The project aims to analyze and report on Jira feature, epic, and portfolio health metrics, providing insights into risks, highlights, and blockers. Architecture Overview: User Interaction: Associates send natural language prompts. Bedrock Agent: Refines prompts using instruction and prompt engineering, iterates with Bedrock LLM, and generates SQL queries. Amazon Bedrock LLM: Processes refined prompts, selects tools, and generates SQL queries. Action Group: AWS Lambda executes queries on Athena, retrieves data from S3, and delivers the final response, providing real-time management insights.

EKS container rightsizing

The project was intended to rightsize containers running in EKS clusters and achieve cost savings. Deployed Kubecost with Prometheus of data retention 90 days across all dev, test, stage and prod environments. Integrated Prometheus with centralised Grafana. Created dashboards for capture cluster level, namespace-level, container-level cost and utilisation metrics. Rightsized the containers which resulted in savings of around 97k+ dollars Read more: https://medium.com/@sanjana.1si13ec088/finops-kubernetes-usage-cost-savings-with-kubecost-26d396ee6c6a

Golden libraries

The Project standardizes safe third-party library management for npm, Go, and Python. Using Trivy as a scanner, libraries are analyzed for vulnerabilities. Safe libraries are pushed to an internal Artifactory, while vulnerable ones are flagged and reported in AWS Security Hub. Teams using flagged packages receive automated email notifications, ensuring timely remediation. This initiative enhances security, minimizes risks, and streamlines dependency management.
