Zain U. - Fullstack Developer, AWS Lambda, Database Administration

My journey at Softaims has been defined by curiosity, growth, and collaboration. I’ve always believed that good software is not just built—it’s carefully shaped through understanding, exploration, and iteration. Every project I’ve worked on has taught me something new about how to balance simplicity with depth, and efficiency with creativity. At its core, my work revolves around helping businesses and people achieve more through thoughtful technology. I’ve learned that the most successful projects come from teams that communicate openly and stay adaptable. At Softaims, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside professionals who challenge assumptions, share knowledge generously, and inspire continuous improvement. I take pride in focusing on the fundamentals—clarity in logic, consistency in design, and empathy in execution. Software is more than a set of features; it’s a reflection of how we think about problems and how we choose to solve them. By maintaining this perspective, I aim to build solutions that are not only effective today but also flexible enough to support the challenges of tomorrow. The culture at Softaims promotes learning as an ongoing process. Every new project feels like a step forward, both personally and professionally. I see each challenge as a chance to refine my skills and contribute to the shared vision of building technology that genuinely improves lives.

Experience Highlights

Application Running on EKS

This diagram shows a cloud-based system using AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS). The application is hosted in a private subnet within a VPC, and users access it through endpoint. Skills Demonstrated: ● AWS EKS ● AWS VPC ● Lower Balancer ● AWS ACM

CI/CD on EKS using Argocd and GitOps Technique

The above illustration describes a CI/CD using AWS code pipeline on EKS cluster. I demonstrate my GitOps skills to deploy application in EKS cluster using Argocd. Benefits: ● Managing deployment versions using GitOps ● Leveraging ArgoCD to implement zero-downtime deployments in production environments

CI/CD on ECS (AWS service) using Jenkins and GitHub

This image shows a diagram of a CI/CD pipeline for deploying Docker images to AWS ECS. The pipeline starts with a developer committing code to GitHub. When a commit is pushed, a trigger is sent to the pipeline, which builds the Docker image and pushes it to Amazon ECR. After the Docker image is pushed to ECR, The pipeline will then update the ECS to use the latest image. Benefits: ● Faster and more reliable deployments ● Enable the developers to independently push their code to the env ● Consistent and repeatable deployment process ● Reduced risk of human error ● Increased productivity

Federated Monitoring System

The above diagram shows a federated monitoring system that uses Grafana and Prometheus to monitor multiple Kubernetes clusters from a single centralized location and send alerts through Opsgenie and Mattermost. The architecture is designed to be highly scalable and reliable. ● I designed and implemented a central monitoring cluster that monitors all of the company's Kubernetes clusters. ● I used Prometheus to fetch all the necessary metrics for monitoring ● I used Grafana to create dashboards that visualized the monitoring data. ● I integrated the monitoring system with Mattermost and Opgenie to enable the SRE team to respond to problems quickly. ● The federated cluster will be able to accommodate new worker clusters hassle-free.

Centralized monitoring for multiple apps on different clusters

This image demonstrates my ability to design and implement a cloud-based system that is scalable, reliable, and monitored. The system uses a variety of AWS services, including VPCs, Auto Scaling groups, Prometheus, Grafana, and Slack. The Prometheus and Grafana components provide monitoring and alerting, while the Slack component provides notifications to the team. Here are some specific skills that I can demonstrate in this image: ● Setting up VPCs with public and private subnets ● Configuring auto-scaling groups ● Create EKS cluster in private subnets ● Deploy application on EKS ● Monitoring cloud infrastructure with Prometheus and Grafana ● Integrating Slack for alerts and notifications
