Experience Highlights

ShoutOut: Social Media Website

It is a social media website design for people to share their thoughts and follow other people's thoughts. I built it from scratch including authentication and used JWT for authorization. You can follow other users and it generates a Feed that contains your posts and posts of all the users you are following. You can like a post, view other users’ profiles and unfollow them if you want. The front-end is made using ReactJS and Chakra UI Library. Redux is used for state management. The back-end API is written using NodeJs and ExpressJs and the data is being saved in MongoDB Atlas. It is currently hosted in Heroku and Netlify. You can visit the website hosted in Netlify using the provided link below. You can create your own new account or log in using "aiveekei" as the username and "testpass" as the password.

Everyone Answers (Firebase)

It is an app created to help teachers get instant responses from students in a live online class. The teacher can create a session, add students, and can share a unique link with students. When a student opens the portal and answers something, it appears on the teacher's dashboard in real-time. The front-end is made with ReactJS and Material UI library. Redux is used for state management. The back-end is made with the Firebase Cloud Firestore database. Teachers are allowed to log in using their existing Google accounts. This authentication is also made through Firebase.

Popular Movies Website

This is a website to browse to see the current most popular movies. The user can click on the movies to see more details about it. Each movie includes a small summary, high-quality posters, and a link to see the trailer videos. It is implemented using a 3rd Party REST API called TMDB and uses routing and pagination to load 20 movies at a time.

Spotify Profile Website

It is an app that lets a user log in using their existing Spotify account. And view their profile, top artists, and top tracks. It uses Spotify for developers Web API for authorization. The front-end is made using ReactJS and styled-components. Redux is used for state management.

Memory Game

The Memory Game is a classic game that a lot of us have played before. This is a rendition of the game made using ReactJS. Using multiple timers on the same page was a challenge. Each tile of the board is a separate component listening to clicks and have their own timers. The game has two modes, the classic and the hardcore. In classic, the goal is to finish the board with fewer moves as possible but you can take your time in thinking and remembering the position of the tiles. Meanwhile, in hardcore, you have to match all pairs within 20 seconds or you will lose.
