I’ve always believed that good software is not just built—it’s carefully shaped through understanding, exploration, and iteration. Every project I’ve worked on has taught me something new about how to balance simplicity with depth, and efficiency with creativity. At its core, my work revolves around helping businesses and people achieve more through thoughtful technology. I’ve learned that the most successful projects come from teams that communicate openly and stay adaptable. At Softaims, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside professionals who challenge assumptions, share knowledge generously, and inspire continuous improvement. I take pride in focusing on the fundamentals—clarity in logic, consistency in design, and empathy in execution. Software is more than a set of features; it’s a reflection of how we think about problems and how we choose to solve them. By maintaining this perspective, I aim to build solutions that are not only effective today but also flexible enough to support the challenges of tomorrow. The culture at Softaims promotes learning as an ongoing process. Every new project feels like a step forward, both personally and professionally. I see each challenge as a chance to refine my skills and contribute to the shared vision of building technology that genuinely improves lives.

Occam Education overhauled their website + blog to emphasize their new client-facing mobile application. I built the entire responsive site in Ruby on Rails.
Montessori Magpie needed an updated website. Voilà.
MY ROLE Product owner (coordinated native developers, designers); lead Rails developer THE JOB We took our legacy Rails monolith from Occam Education (which pulled in React via react_rails) and repackaged some of its functionality, which was then augmented with new features, to create Wend, a hybrid (web + native in React; then web + native in Swift) then fully native (Swift only) app. The Rails app is now the CMS + API. NOTES I’ve overseen (and written most of) the Rails updates and features since Rails 4. Over the last 6 months I’ve written a bit of Swift alongside our dedicated mobile developer. The project is deployed on Heroku (and has been for years). Things we currently use: Redis, Sidekiq, Rails 7, Hotwire (Stimulus, Turbo Streams & Drive), CanCanCan, Trix, ViewComponent (GitHub), Skylight Things we used to use: turbo-ios, react_rails, NewRelic We use rspec for testing, and most of our approach to testing is pretty pragmatic: request specs for APIs, integration tests for important paths, model specs because they’re cheap and easy, and service specs for complex business domain logic. We have always run CI/CD (we use SemaphoreCI + Heroku), and we’ve run different configurations of staging environments (e.g. an instance for mobile dev; a staging instance on standby in case we needed to hotfix something in development).
