Tan T. JavaScript, Node and AI Platforms

My name is Tan T. and I have over 13 years of experience in the tech industry. I specialize in the following technologies: JavaScript, node.js, Django, React, CSS, etc.. I hold a degree in Bachelor of Engineering (BEng). Some of the notable projects I’ve worked on include: My portfolio page, Gatsbystitch - a clone of Taylorstitch, Gatsby + D3JS, nCoV Map 2020 (Gatsby + Leaflet + D3), APA's Academic Writer, etc.. I am based in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. I've successfully completed 6 projects while developing at Softaims.

My passion is building solutions that are not only technically sound but also deliver an exceptional user experience (UX). I constantly advocate for user-centered design principles, ensuring that the final product is intuitive, accessible, and solves real user problems effectively. I bridge the gap between technical possibilities and the overall product vision.

Working within the Softaims team, I contribute by bringing a perspective that integrates business goals with technical constraints, resulting in solutions that are both practical and innovative. I have a strong track record of rapidly prototyping and iterating based on feedback to drive optimal solution fit.

I’m committed to contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge, and helping colleagues grow their skills, all while pushing the boundaries of what's possible in solution development.

APA's Academic Writer

APA's web application for helping students with academic writing. It includes 3 main centers as below: + Write Center: allows creating articles or research papers using 9 sample templates. This is the main center packed with multiple custom components with extensive usage of tinyMCE. Multiple custom plugins for tinyMCE were also created to suit the application logic. + Reference Center: allows creating references used for citing in Write Center. There are multiple pre-made form templates to choose from. Each form has its own set of inputs which can be required or optional. Validating them requires complex custom logic that must work for all forms. + Learn Center: contains quick guides and samples to help students quickly get used to using the centers I and a team of 4 developed the first version of the application (which was called "APA Style Center" at that time) from 2015 using angularjs. It was released in 2016 then we continued to apply updates & fixes. In late 2018 I and the team started upgrading to version 2.0 (which is named "Academic Writer") using angular. The upgrade was done in early December 2019. I contributed to the development of all 3 centers. I formed the logic for validating forms with dynamic inputs and various logic for Write Center including custom tinymce plugins. I had learnt so much that the development process was also a learning class with trial and error. Through it, I gained much stronger problem solving skill as well as coding skill. In new projects I'm pretty sure my experience developing Academic Center will contribute great value. Please refer to my LinkedIn profile for more details: tan-sy-688b8a87 (Tan Sy)
