Migration to Shopify and Redesign for Prominent Furniture Retailer

Client's Goal: Founded in 1988, Laatukaluste is one of Finland's leading retailers in interior design, known for its commitment to quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction​​. The client sought to transition their online store to Shopify to enhance their digital presence, requiring a design that not only resonated with their brand identity but also streamlined the shopping experience for a vast range of products. Our Contribution: We embraced the client's vision by developing a custom Shopify design that aligned with their established brand book. Our approach involved a meticulous understanding of Laatukaluste's core values and customer-centric philosophy. We integrated over a hundred brands and thousands of products into a user-friendly interface, focusing on quality, durability, and reliability​​. One of the significant challenges was managing and categorizing a large inventory of diverse products. To address this, we engineered an automated system to display unique information for each product, significantly reducing the manual effort and potential errors associated with handling such a vast catalog. Technical Challenges and Solutions: The transition from the previous platform to Shopify posed a unique challenge, especially in migrating the product data. The export file from the old platform was incompatible with Shopify. Our solution was a custom Python script that reformatted the CSV file, making it compatible with Shopify. This allowed for a swift and efficient product upload, ensuring a seamless transition without manual data entry. Project Success: The new Shopify store for Laatukaluste stands as a testament to our client's forward-thinking approach and our technical and design expertise. The store has not only met but exceeded client expectations, offering an enhanced user experience and contributing to increased sales and customer engagement. Laatukaluste's position as a trusted partner in the industry, evidenced by their 'Suomen Vahvimmat' certification, underscores the success of our collaborative effort​​. Additionally, our alignment with their environmentally responsible practices, such as participating in the Rinki packaging recycling system, reflects our mutual commitment to sustainability​​.
