Vagner B. Backend, Cloud and Modern Frameworks

My name is Vagner B. and I have over 3 years of experience in the tech industry. I specialize in the following technologies: pandas, Python, C++, Beautiful Soup, Django, etc.. I hold a degree in Master of Science (MS), Bachelor of Science (BS). Some of the notable projects I’ve worked on include: Siagasdl - Brazil's wells data extractions, Aigent, Centopy, Simple responsive calculator, FIPE - average cars prices in Brazil, etc.. I am based in Crateus, Brazil. I've successfully completed 7 projects while developing at Softaims.

My expertise lies in deeply understanding and optimizing solution performance. I have a proven ability to profile systems, analyze data access methods, and implement caching strategies that dramatically reduce latency and improve responsiveness under load. I turn slow systems into high-speed performers.

I focus on writing highly efficient, clean, and well-documented code that minimizes resource consumption without sacrificing functionality. This dedication to efficiency is how I contribute measurable value to Softaims’ clients by reducing infrastructure costs and improving user satisfaction.

I approach every project with a critical eye for potential bottlenecks, proactively designing systems that are efficient from the ground up. I am committed to delivering software that sets the standard for speed and reliability.

Experience Highlights

Centopy

centopy - Description: API for managing files in a specified folder. - Use cases: projects that needs encapsulation of a files system (set of files) or use compression

Simple responsive calculator

Calculators are common projects for starting coding. But many relies on a very simple version. A responsive calculator is like the ones we can find in our phones. It produces results as user inputs or undo calculations. This web-app project uses math.js to make mathematical evaluations and react to implements components.

FIPE - average cars prices in Brazil

This project was design to provide an API to average car prices and their information. It ended up to produce a dataset uploaded to kaggle. This dataset has the average prices of cars sold in Brazil. The source observations are from FIPE veiculos.fipe.org.br. Where one can collect data using drop-down menus. Each observation is an average price for a model corresponding to a month and a year of reference. The queries translates as api post request. Each query uses ajax functions. You can check the headers, requests and responses can at the browser's developers tool. Yet, useful information as engine size, gear and fuel type are not available as variable. For instance, one can find engine size information at the describing each model. Current work is not finished, but has as coverage interval from January 2021 to December 2022. The extraction method uses Selenium. A set of string and regex operations helped to treat the data. Currently I'm working on using requests to collect the data, and soon I'll make coverage data from 2001 to 2023 available.

Deckcards

I developed a framework that models a deck of cards and the main actions from cards games. The framework is a Python package and you can install it via pip. It provides an interface for building card games. To build this framework I used the adapter structural pattern. Thus, deckcards allows easy implementations of either simple or complex card games. The package provides an example of a Black Jack game.

Thatscraper

Selenium is a famous framework for website testing and webscraping. As stated in their webpage: Selenium automates browsers. That's it! What you do with that power is entirely up to you. Some sites are full of web components that relies on ajax functions. For those sites using requests is harder or impossible. For such heavy JavaScript using sites one can count on Selenium. Building a production code with Selenium produces many boilerplate code. Those are unnecessary and hard to read. Thatscraper comes as a solution for that. Built as an adapter pattern, thatscraper reduces the number of code lines. It can interact with components, extract data from lists and send data to forms. I created this project to collect data from veiculos.fipe.org.br. This site requires actions on drop-down menus to make components available to the DOM. You can also reduce the time coding a tester for your site. Also, the webdriver often allows memory leakage, making repeated runs to overload RAM. By default the Crawler (thatscraper’s main class) object quits the webdriver in case of error. Full documentation can be found at thatscraper.readthedocs.io/en/latest/
