Omron Healthcare, a multi-billion dollar healthcare devices corporation, contracted me to build an interactive piece of software to work with their world-class pedometer hardware. I created a portal with Ruby on Rails and MySQL that Omron's corporate wellness clients could use to track their daily activity and graphically display the data for their employers. The employers could then hold competitions and reward employees who exercised and used their pedometers the most. With thousands of users creating profiles and uploading their daily workout info, the project has been a resounding success.
ChatterHigh connects high schoolers in the US and Canada to colleges and makes a game out of them learning about the various benefits and curriculums colleges provide, all with the goal of pairing students to the best next step in their education. I built out an online payment portal with Stripe and Ruby on Rails for ChatterHigh that allows users to buy features with one-time payments as well as sign up for a multi-tiered subscription platform. I also implemented a full translation of the site from English to French so the site can be viewed in its entirety in either language. Both the payment platform and the translation of the website opened ChatterHigh to new markets for expansion.
Propel hired me to build out a one-stop-shop piece of software for shredding and storage companies. This industry was typically run on four or five programs being used in tandem and my client wanted to pull all of those various needs into one piece of software and gear it specifically toward the shredding and storage business. Written in Ruby on Rails with heavy reliance on Javascript, Propel solves all of a shredding/storage businesses needs. We allow them to set up contracts with their clients that specify jobs that will be done and the cost of those jobs, manage payments and invoicing through stripe, keep track of the containers they stored and shred and the contents of those contains, create work orders for jobs that will be done at specific locations throughout the day, and attach those work orders to routes that the drivers will take to complete those jobs. The application is currently being used by several of the largest companies in this industry and its client base is growing.
Global Trotters Fund is an innovative new form of online silent auction where users can choose charities they would like to donate to while they shop for once-in-a-lifetime events and high-end goods. I collaborated with the founder to design and develop an MVP of her vision for the site built on Ruby on Rails and deployed on Heroku. On top of the silent auction functionality and payment platform, we also developed a CMS for GTF that makes editing the site easy for administrators. The MVP is elegant and is currently being used to attract investors for a more robust build out.
The Chicago Quantitative Alliance needed a complete redesign and redevelopment of their website. I was hired to design the site from mockup to code and to implement new features for users allowing them to pay for their membership online, search for events and presenters, and sign up for upcoming conferences. The new design and features have been a resounding success and membership is at an all time high for the business.
