FAQs For Companies

General

  • Softaims is a premier global network that rigorously vets the top 3% of freelance software developers, designers, product managers, and finance experts. We connect you directly with verified, ready-to-interview talent to scale your team or complete critical projects within 24-48 hours. Unlike traditional agencies, we cut overhead and speed up the hiring process by acting as a direct talent network.
  • Our vetting process is industry-leading. It includes a comprehensive review of skills, experience, communication, and personality. The multi-stage screening process—which includes live testing, algorithmic matching, and behavioral interviews—ensures only the top 3% of global applicants are accepted into the Softaims network.
  • You can expect to be matched with 2-3 perfectly suited, fully vetted developers within 24 to 48 hours of submitting your request. The fastest time to hire is typically within 3 days, including the optional trial period.
  • We do not enforce a minimum contract duration. However, to ensure project stability, we recommend an initial engagement of at least two weeks. Billing is strictly based on actual hours worked.
  • Softaims is ideal for complex, high-stakes projects, rapid team scaling, short-term needs for specialized expertise (e.g., launching a new platform), and long-term full-time augmentation needs.
  • While Softaims primarily facilitates flexible, contract-based engagements, we offer a No-Risk Trial-to-Hire option. If you wish to convert a freelancer to a full-time employee after a successful contract period, a conversion fee applies, which is often waived or reduced based on the length of the initial contract.
  • We cover a wide range of technical and non-technical roles, including React/Node.js/Python developers, DevOps engineers, UI/UX designers, AI/ML specialists, project managers, and financial consultants. Our network covers hundreds of specific skills.
  • Softaims is a global network. Our talent is distributed across 100+ countries. This allows us to match you with experts who align perfectly with your required time zone overlap or full time-zone coverage.
  • We offer a No-Risk Trial Period. If you are not completely satisfied with the matched developer's performance within the first week, we will immediately find a replacement, and you will not be billed for the time worked by the original developer.
  • All engagements are covered by our standard Intellectual Property (IP) and Non-Disclosure agreements (NDAs). You retain 100% of the IP rights, and developers are legally bound to protect your confidential information.
  • Yes. Softaims developers are independent contractors who utilize their own professional-grade equipment and standard software licenses. Clients are only expected to provide access to project-specific internal tools (e.g., Jira, Slack, internal repositories).
  • Simply submit your request via our 'Hire Talent' form, detailing your project needs and role requirements. We match you with candidates, you interview them, and you start the trial when ready.

Billing

  • Pricing is based on the role, the required skill set, the expertise level (Senior/Lead), and the developer's location. We offer competitive, all-inclusive hourly rates with no hidden fees, application fees, or termination charges for contract roles. You only pay for the hours worked.
  • Billing is done monthly. Developers log their hours via our internal time-tracking system, and you are sent an invoice every Monday for the hours worked in the previous month.
  • We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), PayPal, and direct bank transfers (ACH/Wire) for invoice payment.
  • You pay Softaims. We handle all contractual, billing, and payment processing duties with the developer, simplifying your financial management and ensuring compliance.
  • Our developers use a proprietary time-tracking tool that records hours, takes periodic desktop screenshots, and logs activity levels. This data is available for your review and is subject to your approval, ensuring you only pay for verified, productive work time.
  • The hourly rate provided is generally exclusive of any applicable local VAT or sales tax. These taxes will be calculated and applied to your invoice according to the legal requirements of your billing jurisdiction.
  • You have the flexibility to pause or ramp down a contract at any time without penalty. We require a brief notice (usually 1-2 days) to ensure a smooth transition and final payment processing.
  • There is no cost to you. If a developer needs replacement (due to poor fit or technical reasons), Softaims finds and provides a new vetted expert immediately, and we cover any costs associated with the transition period.
  • No. All standard engagements are month-to-month contracts, allowing you maximum flexibility. You can extend or terminate the contract with minimal notice.
  • The Trial-to-Hire conversion fee is calculated as a percentage of the developer's annual salary. This fee decreases substantially, or is waived entirely, after the developer has worked with you on contract for six months or longer.
  • The rates are all-inclusive of the developer's pay, Softaims' service fee, and costs associated with professional liability. Since they are independent contractors, clients are not responsible for their employment taxes, insurance, or benefits.
  • Invoices are typically due within 7 days (Net 7) of receipt. We can discuss alternative payment terms for high-volume or long-term partners.

Developers

  • Our developers are independent contractors and top-tier freelancers. They are vetted by Softaims but maintain their professional autonomy, allowing them to focus fully on your project. They are not Softaims employees.
  • All developers in our network must pass a rigorous communication screening. You communicate directly with the developer via your preferred tools (Slack, Teams, Zoom, etc.). Excellent English proficiency is guaranteed.
  • You do. The developers integrate directly into your existing team structure and report to your internal manager, team lead, or product owner. Softaims handles the contractual and billing side, but you retain full management control.
  • The client (you) retains 100% of the Intellectual Property rights to all work produced by the developer. This is legally secured in the standard Softaims engagement agreement.
  • Yes. Our matching process allows you to filter and request specific industry experience (e.g., FinTech, HealthTech, E-commerce). This is a primary factor we use to narrow down the best candidates for your role.
  • Developers are required to inform you in advance of planned time off. If unexpected absence occurs, your dedicated Softaims account manager will work with the developer to ensure work continuity or quickly provide temporary coverage if necessary.
  • Working hours are flexible and defined by your project needs (full-time, part-time, project-based). We ensure the developer agrees to an appropriate schedule, including necessary time zone overlap with your core team.
  • You should first communicate directly with the developer. If the issue is unresolved, you must contact your dedicated Softaims account manager who will mediate and implement a resolution, including a free replacement if necessary.
  • We combine automated coding assessments (testing core logic and speed) with human-led, comprehensive technical and behavioral interviews conducted by existing senior experts in the Softaims network. Our acceptance rate is consistently below 3%.
  • A developer's capacity is agreed upon upfront (e.g., full-time is 40 hours/week dedicated to your project). If you hire a developer part-time, they may work on other projects, but their commitment to your agreed-upon hours remains guaranteed.
  • At the conclusion of the contract, the developer will ensure all code is properly documented, tested, and pushed to your chosen repository, and will provide a thorough handover to your internal team or the next assigned developer.
  • Our network maintains deep expertise across all major tech stacks (MERN, LAMP, MEAN, etc.), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab). They are proficient in integrating seamlessly into any modern software development environment.

Vetting & Quality

  • Our 'Top 3%' claim is based on our rigorous application process acceptance rate. We track the volume of applications and the number of developers who successfully pass all stages, including live technical screenings, personality evaluations, and proficiency tests. Our acceptance rate is consistently below 3%.
  • The process is multi-layered: 1) Language and communication screening; 2) In-depth skills assessment via automated tests; 3) Live technical challenge and peer-to-peer review; 4) Behavioral and soft skills interview; 5) Final placement review and acceptance.
  • Both. Initial stages test fundamental and theoretical knowledge, but the critical stage is the live technical challenge, where experts must architect and code solutions under pressure, simulating real-world project scenarios.
  • Communication is tested in the first stage via an initial interview and is continuously evaluated during the live technical challenge and the final behavioral interview. Only candidates with advanced professional proficiency are accepted.
  • Yes. Our behavioral interview focuses heavily on cultural fit, past collaboration experiences, problem-solving under team constraints, and professional reliability, ensuring they integrate seamlessly into your existing team.
  • Our technical screeners are highly experienced Senior and Lead developers who are already established members of the Softaims network. They have a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in the field they are screening.
  • We conduct periodic check-ins with both the client and the developer. Furthermore, our continuous feedback loop ensures that any performance issues are addressed proactively by your dedicated account manager.
  • Developers are required to participate in skill-refreshers and assessments annually. For rapidly evolving technologies, new certification requirements are introduced more frequently to ensure their skills remain cutting-edge.
  • Yes. Every developer profile includes detailed information on their verified work history, experience, and sometimes anonymized samples of their code or design work, allowing you to review their portfolio before interviewing.
  • Yes, clients are asked to provide performance feedback after the initial trial period and at the conclusion of the contract. This feedback is critical to the developer's standing in the Softaims network.
  • Our automated systems employ plagiarism checks, and our live technical interviews require candidates to code in real-time while explaining their thought process, ensuring the work presented is entirely their own.
  • The vast majority of our developers are considered Mid to Senior level, typically possessing 5+ years of professional, hands-on experience in their core technologies.
