Adobe's in-house marketing teams wanted a portal to consolidate and coordinate their ad campaigns, including assets and performance data. This meant both a clean and usable interface for viewing and using the portal, and a number of customized back-end scripts to ingest data in a variety of formats from a variety of different sources and put it in the portal's database format. They requested a rapid prototype with minimal viable product (MVP) capabilities. I developed this in WordPress with the bulk of the code being custom PHP, including a domain-specific language to simplify conversion.
The Heritage Institute is an online learning portal built on Laravel. As a full-featured education site, it includes an extensive feedback system allowing students and teachers to communicate with each other, as well as the ability for teachers to create homework assignments that could be reviewed and commented on by other students in the class as well as teachers and TAs. Teachers have an extensive interface they can use to upload class materials and otherwise shape the curriculum.
The client's website was dark, rarely updated, not responsive, and didn't even have a drink menu. I created a site for her that reflected the open and welcoming quality of her cafe, using elements from her in-store decoration to create a friendly, readable, responsive page.
RMI Expeditions is a Laravel-based portal for organized mountain-climbing expeditions. This application has distinct interfaces for clients, admins, and guides, each with their own capabilities. The admin module in particular is very sophisticated; it includes standard features like the ability to communicate with clients and guides and the ability to send automated, customized e-mails as the expedition approaches. it also incorporates a system for guides to upload their certifications and a system for admins to review the certifications and promote or demote guides.
The client wanted a page that was professional, yet reflected her distinct personality and style. We collaborated on the design, eventually settling on a palette and style that she was happy with. The fully-responsive site was created using Next.js and React and is hosted on one of my AWS servers.
