Job Description

We're building an AI powered accounting assistant for our bookkeeping and fractional CFO firm.

The goal is to create an intelligent AI agent that can interact with QuickBooks Online, understand accounting workflows, retrieve financial information, and perform actions through n8n.

Tech Stack n8n QuickBooks Online API OAuth 2.0 OpenAI MCP (Model Context Protocol) REST APIs JSON Webhooks

Initial Scope Configure QuickBooks OAuth authentication Build reusable n8n workflows Connect QuickBooks Online API Retrieve Chart of Accounts, customers, vendors, invoices, bills, journal entries, etc. Create workflows for creating and updating transactions Build AI tool endpoints the LLM can call Handle OAuth refresh tokens Error handling and logging Document all workflows

Nice to Have CPA or accounting software experience QuickBooks API experience AI agent development OpenAI function calling MCP servers Experience building accounting automations

We are looking for someone who Has built production n8n workflows Has extensive QuickBooks Online API experience Can build scalable architecture rather than quick fixes Communicates well Can collaborate on future AI features Deliverables Working QuickBooks API integration Modular n8n workflows Documentation AI tools callable from our AI assistant Clean architecture that can grow into a full accounting AI platform
