Data Migration Developer
Project description
Data Migration Developer: (15–20 hrs/wk, / Eastern Time 9:30am Daily Standup / must be available 12/7–12/11 and the weekend of 1/2–1/3)
We’re migrating a construction distributor’s accounting data from a SQL Server ERP into Sage 300 CRE, with cutover 1/1/2027. You’ll reverse-engineer an undocumented SQL Server schema (read-only), build scripts that generate exact-format import files, build incremental (delta) runs that are safe to repeat, and build automated reconciliation that proves the loads tie to the general ledger.
Required: strong T-SQL; working knowledge of AR, AP, retainage and GL; experience with incremental/idempotent data loads; precise CSV/Excel output; able to read C#/.NET; daily AI-assisted coding (Codex or similar) with test-based verification;
Strong plus: Sage 300 CRE / Timberline imports or ODBC; construction job-cost accounting.
Include a Loom intro video (5–7 minutes, camera on, please don’t read from a script). Cover these in order:
- One data migration you’ve done: source system, target system, rough volume, and how you proved the data was correct.
- In plain words: what retainage is on an accounts payable invoice, and how you’d check that the open AP invoices you loaded match the GL.
- You have read-only access to an undocumented SQL Server database. How would you find which tables hold open vendor invoices?
- You load 600 records today and have to run the load again next week with changes. How do you avoid duplicates?
- Screen-share for 60–90 seconds: show how you code with AI tools on a real project with nothing confidential on screen, and how you check that what the AI wrote is correct.
- Optional: Your experience with Sage 300 CRE (Timberline), its imports or its ODBC driver.
